You know, Justin Wilson wasn't the only Cajun comic to come out of Louisiana, he wsn't even the first, not by a long shot. One step before him was this guy, who called himself Cajun Pete. In reality, he's Irvine John Vidacovich, who was born in 1904 and lived his whole life in New Orleans. His first nickname wasn't Cajun was 'Pinky'! It was while he was employed by WWL that he first developed the Cajun Pete character.

By 1953, the character had grown to such an extent that he was cutting radio commercials and soon found himself becoming part of an advertising agency. This album for Mercury is from 1961 and is chock-full of his down-home comedy. It's a deep groove original pressing as well.
