Black icons memorialized in biopic films are the hottest thing of this generation, and now one new biopic may be coming to a big screen near you sooner than you think.

During a recent interview with the Associated Press, former heavyweight champion of the world turned actor Mike Tyson says he’d like Oscar winner Jamie Foxx to play him.

“Me and Jamie Foxx have been talking and he’s willing to take that role and portray me as Mike Tyson, doing my life story,” Tyson said. “I think he’s splendid because he’s really up to par. I think he would do a magnificent job.”

Tyson admitted that Foxx will have to bulk up for the role. “I saw him the other night and we discussed it. He doesn’t have the physicality but he will. He’s able to [...] get bulky, so he’s capable of doing it in the future.”

This wouldn’t be the first time starring in a biopic for Foxx who has played Nathanial Ayers, and Tookie Williams and won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles.

And Mike Tyson has had a couple of biographical films capture his life already, most notably the 1995 tv movie “Tyson” starring Michael Jai White.

The championship boxer’s solo production Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, directed by Spike Lee, will make its way to Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on September 10.
