In J. Cole’s latest music video, art mirrors real life.
The clip for “Neighbors” off the 4 Your Eyez Only album features actual surveillance footage from the real-life SWAT team raid that was conducted on Cole’s suburban studio in North Carolina. Despite a neighbor’s tip that Cole and his crew were selling drugs, feds didn’t find anything that fateful day. Still, Cole managed to make the most of an unfortunate situation, using it as inspiration for a song and a video.
