Walk of Life 2017 The Walk of Life is a 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run to raise money for those who cannot afford the lifesaving mammograms and breast cancer screenings they desperately need. The Walk of Life will take place April 22, 2017, at 8:30am. Every year, this landmark walk/run through downtown Montgomery, Alabama delivers a rallying moment for thousands of participants from all fitness levels united by a common desire to do prevent breast cancer. Whether you're considering your first Walk or are a seasoned veteran, we want you with us at The Walk of Life.
The 2017 Walk of Life 5K/10K course is USATF certified.
A separate Kids Dash starts at 9:45am inside the Riverfront Park.The Walk of Life benefits The Joy to Life Foundation, which provides free mammograms and other breast cancer screenings, when necessary, to medically underserved women and men in Alabama. From 2008-2015, the Joy to Life Foundation helped provide 80,000 mammograms in Alabama. As a result, 1,115 people were diagnosed with breast cancer and received treatment. Joy to Life also provides limited grants when needed, builds and supports breast cancer awareness among all Alabamians, and promotes over-all health, well being, and education throughout the state.
