GOAT SAVES FAMILY FROM HOUSE FIRE

An Arkansas family has never been so happy to own a pet goat.

Nick Bruce and his family are crediting Speedy the goat with saving their lives after a fire broke out inside their home in the middle of the night.

10-year-old Abigail says Speedy detected the fire and woke her up by jumping on her in bed. Abigail then ran to her parents' room to wake them up. Smoke was starting to fill up the house, so the family jumped out of a window and escaped onto the front lawn. Luckily no one was injured.

If not for Speedy the goat, who the family got just two days earlier as a birthday present for Abigail, the story could have had a tragic ending. (WREG-TV Memphis)

PROM DATES WED 64 YEARS AND A LIFETIME LATER

A couple of high school sweethearts accompanied each other to the senior prom and then got married ... 64 years later.

81-year-olds Joyce Kevorkian and Jim Bowman were a high school couple in Indiana and spent one of their last nights together at the senior prom in 1953. They went their separate ways to different colleges where they each met their future spouses. Joyce was married for 53 years before her husband died and Jim was married for 58 years until his wife's death.

Then one day, Jim started thinking about Joyce and wondering where she might be. So he did a little Internet sleuthing and found her address. He mailed her a letter and Joyce responded a few weeks later.

Many more phone calls and emails followed and the two suddenly rekindled their long-lost romance. Then Jim visited Joyce and they realized they hadn't changed that much.

Jim says, "We both like fun things and we both still have a good sense of humor and can laugh at each other. We both still liked to dance, we both love music and reading and hiking still." Then one day Jim asked if Joyce "wanted to pick up where we left off 64 years ago."

So on April 1st, surrounded by close friends and family, the couple exchanged vows and got married at Joyce's senior living facility. (People)

A Florida couple recently boarded a Carnival Cruise and received a special welcome for a very unique milestone.

Bernard and Janice Caffary are crazy about cruising, and this latest cruise was their 200th trip with Carnival, which is a record for the cruise line.

The couple boarded the Carnival Liberty and were greeted by special personalized welcome signage inside the terminal and were the guests of honor at a special VIP celebration.

The Caffarys achieved the incredible feat in just 15 years, which works out to about 13 cruises a year. They've spent a total of 878 days at sea and they're not done yet. Carnival says they have already booked their next 30 trips. (USA Today)
