Zayn Malik Fans Concerned As He Breaks Silence With Teary-Eyed Photo

Zayn is being showered with love after breaking his silence on Instagram.

After remaining quiet for over a month, the “Dusk Till Dawn” crooner took to the social platform with a caption-less selfie that’s prompted fans to leave the pop star uplifting comments. In the snapshot, Zayn appears up-close with tear-filled eyes as he gazes off in the distance while wearing what appeared to be eyeliner.

However, as fans have pointed out on Twitter, Zayn’s look in the selfie actually honors his Muslim culture with the South Asian tradition. "Hey babes, Zayn is not wearing eyeliner....it is Surma, we Muslims put in on Eids and other occasions," one user explained.

Although it remains unclear what brought on the waterworks for the “Pillowtalk” artist, the image moved his followers to share messages of love and support all the same.

“I love you so much, I hope everything is ok,” one concerned user commented.

“Am I missing something? Why the crying,” another worried fan asked, as someone else chimed in, “I’ve literally missed you so much! I hope you’re well.”

The emotional photo comes a week after Zayn’s fellow One Direction bandmates — Liam PayneHarry StylesNiall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson— each celebrated the band’s 10-year anniversary on July 23. Noticeably silent on the anniversary was Zayn, who exited the group in 2015 and hasn’t looked back since.

One reasonable theory behind Zayn’s tears could be the joy of his future fatherhood with girlfriend Gigi Hadid, who is expecting the couple’s first child later this year.

The model confirmed her pregnancy weeks after the pair’s baby news was gossiped about in the press. "Obviously, we wished we could have announced it on our own terms but we're very excited and happy and grateful for everyone's well wishes and support," she revealed in April. "Especially during this time," she added, "it's a nice silver lining to be able to be home and be together and really experience it day by day."
