Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese joked about her WNBA rookie salary after her Rose BC team won the Unrivaled league championship on Monday (March 17).

Reese, 22, who finished second in 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year voting to Caitlin Clark, was rewarded with an additional $50,000 bonus for winning the 3-on-3 offseason league's championship, which she claimed was "a little more than half of" her contract with the Sky when Indiana Fever guard Sydney Colson jokingly asked if she wanted "to get rid" of the money.

"Hey sista. I’m doing well. Just won 50k on a flight," Reese wrote on her X account. "I know you are VERY aware & I'm sorry to break it to you but I’m on a rookie contract & that 50k was a little more than half of my contract so I have to keep that to myself…. sorry :( give me a few years and i gotchu. be well."

Reese had previously addressed the WNBA's pay scale during an episode of her Unapologetically Angel show earlier this month.

"Yeah, the new CBA is coming up. I can't wait. We deserve more. Everybody," Reese said.

"The [2026 WNBA rookie class] are probably gonna be making more than us," she added.

Reese, who also has endorsements with Beats by Dre, Amazon, PlayStation and Hershey's, among others, is set to make an annual salary of $82,399 during the 2025 WNBA season under the current CBA agreement.

"I got to get in the [CBA negotiation] meetings, because I'm hearing like, if y'all don't give us what we want, we sitting out," Reese said on Unapologetically Angel.
