Garcelle Beauvais is parting ways with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
On Tuesday (March 25), Beauvais took to Instagram to announce that she was exiting RHOBH after five seasons on the show..
"I have some news: I have decided to leave Beverly Hills," Beauvais said in a video. "It’s been a wild ride, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened — but it’s been a ride nevertheless."
The actress cited upcoming projects and wanting to devote more time to her sons as reasons for her leaving the franchise.
"One of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family, my boys. Their last year of high school is next year, and I want to be a part of that. And Jade is starting a new career and I want to be a part of that, too. And secondly, I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing and acting in — I can’t tell you anything now but you’ll know soon," Beauvais said.
Beauvais also thanked the production team behind RHOBH, including executive producer Andy Cohen, along with her fans who have "cheered me on, supported me, and sometimes even fought for me on my behalf."
"Andy Cohen says I can come back anytime, the door will always be open, so you never know, I might pop back in sometime," she said.
Beauvais initially joined RHOBH during season 10, which aired in 2020. She made history as the franchise's first Black full-time housewife.
News of her departure came just hours before the premiere of the season 14 finale. Beauvais is also expected to appear on the season 14 three-part reunion show.
