Nia Long shared a cryptic message amid speculation that she and daytime talk show host Sherri Shepherd had a heated confrontation at a Broadway show.

During Monday's (March 24) broadcast of the "Sherri" show, Shepherd revealed that she had a tense exchange with an unnamed celebrity during Sunday's (March 23) premiere of "Othello," a Broadway production starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Shepherd said she was conversing with friends when the celebrity physically turned her around and accused her of "shading" them on her daytime show.

“I’m standing there talking. Somebody grabbed my arms, and they forcefully turned me around,” Shepherd recalled on Monday's broadcast. “So I’m in a good mood, so I go, ‘Hi, what’s going on?’ ’cause I know her. And she says to me, she goes, ‘You’ve been shading me a lot.'”

Despite Shepherd denying the accusation, "She goes, ‘Yes you have,’ and then she just walked off,” the host said.

The comedian said she was confused by the confrontation because she doesn't "shade many people."

"It might be one person I shade and I … I never have shaded this unnamed celebrity," she said.

“I would say to unnamed celebrity because you think I shaded you — which means you watch my show — I don’t know who you think I am. I think you got me confused with somebody, one of the bloggers or the influencers, because I know I didn’t shade you," Shepherd added.

As fan speculation swirled over who the unnamed celebrity was, Page Six reported that the confrontation unfolded between Shepherd and Long.

Long shared a cryptic post on Instagram on Monday as rumors swirled about the alleged Broadway battle.

"About last night..." the actress wrote with a kissing face emoji.

One fan interpreted the post as a "classy" response from Long amid the reports.

“Classy, no response is the response,” one person commented.

"Gangsta Nia Long, rolling up to Sherri on Broadway, I can’t 😩😆," another said.
