LISTEN: Tyler, The Creator Drops His Ninth Album 'Don't Tap The Glass'

Tyler, the Creator wants everyone to get off their feet and dance to his brand-new album.

On Monday, July 21, the California native delivered his ninth studio LP DON'T TAP THE GLASS via Columbia Records. The unexpected album contains 10 fresh songs beginning with "Big Poe" featuring Pharrell Williams, who offers up a full verse over Tyler's production alongside a sample of Busta Rhymes' "Pass the Courvoisier." It continues with other energetic bangers like "Sugar On My Tongue," "Ring Ring Ring," "Don't Tap That Glass/Tweakin'" featuring Baby Keem, "Don't You Worry Baby" featuring Daisy World, "I'll Take Care Of You" with a sample of Crime Mob's "Knuck If You Buck" and more.

"I asked some friends why they don't dance in public and some said because of the fear of being filmed," Tyler wrote in a statement after the album dropped. "I thought 'Damn, a natural form of expression and a certain connection they have with music is now a ghost. It made me wonder how much of our human spirit got killed because of the fear of being a meme, all for having a good time."

"This album was not made for sitting still," he continued. "Dancing, driving, running, any type of movement is recommended to maybe understand the spirit of it. Only at full volume."

Tyler dropped the follow-up to his CHROMAKOPIA album just days after he announced it. He gave fans a clue about his plans while he was in the middle of his "CHROMAKOPIA Tour." At his stop in Brooklyn on Friday night, a life-size figurine of Tyler in a glass box appeared outside of the Barclays Center with signage that promoted the album's website. After teasing the album cover during the show, Tyler announced the release date and shared links to pre-orders and merch.
