Authorities are looking into reports that someone in the crowd was injecting people with some sort of drug and that's what caused the panic. That hasn't been confirmed.

There's also a report that a 10-year-old died.

What a terrible tragedy. A lot of disturbing details of what went on may still come out in the days ahead.

The first night of the rapper's two-night Astroworld festival drew a crowd of about 50,000 people to NRG Park. According to TMZ, fans started pushing toward the stage when Travis was performing, causing panic in the crowd. Security and medics had to rush in to rescue people who had been crushed or were passed out, and the show was stopped. Witnesses say the crowd was so bad that people were climbing camera platforms and anything else they could climb to get away from the stampede.

Officials say eight people died in the chaos and 11 others were rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest. Hundreds more were treated for injuries at a field hospital near the venue. The second night of the festival has been cancelled. This story is developing.
